About
The Department of Electrical Engineering was started in 2011, since its inception. The department offers four year Bachelor of Technology (BE) program (comprising of eight semesters). BE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering at SIT is one of the best rated undergraduate engineering Programs. The curriculum of BE program comprises of core courses, department elective courses, technical seminars, experiments in laboratory, projects etc. The program offers sufficient flexibility so that the students can undertake various elective courses that provide exposure in various disciplines of EEE such as Microprocessors and VLSI design, Power Electronics and Power System, Control System and Embedded Systems. Members of faculty regularly publish in peer reviewed journals of highest international repute.
Prof. Gururaj (HOD)
He has 09 years of teaching experience. He has done BE in Basaweshwar Engineering college, Bagalkot. M.Tech in PDACE kalaburagi. He had published 3 international peer reputed journals. He has organised one workshop on Renewable energy and attended 05 workshops and seminars. He taught 15 subjects in his career.
His research interests are Renewable Energy, Smart Grid and Power Electronics. He has guided 15 BE projects and one M.Tech Project

Program Outcomes
Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and computer science and business systems to the solution of complex
engineering and societal problems.
Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering and business problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate
consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
